Common Questions

Where is my data stored?
On your device only. The app has no account and does not send your data anywhere. See the Privacy Policy.

Does the app tell me what herbs are used for?
No. It is a journal for your own notes. The only built-in information is a list of plant names and families to save you typing. Nothing in the app is medical advice. See the Terms.

How do I move to a new phone, or keep a copy?
Settings, then Backup and restore, then Create backup. Save the file somewhere safe (for example Google Drive), and on the new phone choose Restore or import. See the How-To Guide.

I forgot my backup passphrase.
We cannot recover it. The file is encrypted on your device with a key made from your passphrase, and we never have either. Keep your passphrase somewhere safe, and consider also keeping an unprotected backup in a private place.

I forgot my PIN.
The PIN is stored only on your device and we cannot reset it. That is why we recommend keeping a backup of your data.

How do I make my own sections or tabs?
Settings, then Sections and tabs. See the How-To Guide.

I did not get a batch reminder.
Check that Batch reminders is on in the app's Settings, that notifications are allowed for the app in Android's settings, and that battery saver is not blocking background alarms for it.

How do I add a lot of herbs at once?
Use the template: Settings, then Import herbs from a document, then Get the template (or download it here). Fill it in on a computer in Word, LibreOffice or a similar program, then open the file in the app. You see a preview before anything is added.

My document did not import, or part of it is missing.
Check that each herb has a Herb Name: line and a Family: line (both are required) and that sections start with their name and a colon. Files must be .docx or .odt; older .doc files, PDFs and RTF cannot be imported. The preview and finish screens list notes about anything that was skipped. See the template page.

How do I search?
Tap the magnifying glass at the top of any tab. It searches herbs, recipes, batches, remedies, stock and more, and you can narrow it with the chips under the search box. See the How-To Guide.

Can I keep track of my stock and where it is stored?
Yes, in the Organizer tab. See the How-To Guide.

Can I share my herbs with a friend?
Yes. Open an herb, recipe or remedy and tap Share, or share your whole collection from Backup. Photos travel with it.
