Grandma's Toolbox Terms of Use

The short version: Grandma's Toolbox is a set of kitchen tools. Its numbers are guides, not food-safety, allergy or medical advice. Check that food is cooked safely and use the app at your own risk.

Using Grandma's Toolbox

These terms apply to the Grandma's Toolbox app and this website. By using the app you agree to them; if you don't agree, please don't use it. KATR Software gives you a personal, non-exclusive license to use the app on your devices. The app is not directed at children under 13.

Cooking, food safety and allergies

Times, temperatures, weights, conversions, scaled amounts and baker's percentages are guides. Typical ingredient weights and starting formulas are not exact and are not yet checked against a cited source; brands, humidity and technique change the result. Always check that food is cooked safely.

The app gives no medical, allergy or food-safety advice and is not a substitute for tested recipes or professional guidance.
The gluten-free mode helps with the arithmetic of a formula. It does not certify anything as gluten-free.
Timers rely on your phone. A phone setting, a low battery or a muted volume can stop an alert, so do not depend on the app where a missed alert could cause harm.

You use the app at your own risk.

Free use, Pro and tips

Grandma's Toolbox is free to use. Pro is an optional one-time purchase made through Google Play, with no subscription, and tips under Support the developer are optional and unlock nothing. Payment, refunds and receipts are governed by Google Play's terms. The features included in Pro are described on the Free vs Pro page and may be extended over time. Your own data is never held back, with or without Pro.

What you enter belongs to you and is stored on your device. See the Privacy Policy.

What you may not do

Don't copy, reverse engineer or resell the app, and don't use it for anything unlawful.

No warranty and limits on liability

Grandma's Toolbox is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, KATR Software is not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from your use of the app.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
